Nik Winkleman

Nik Winkleman (left) is the Co-Owner and Director of Training at Windermere Basketball Academy. Nik is a Florida native and has played basketball his entire life.

Nik played basketball in high school and was a 4-year starter in college where he was named to both all conference and all region teams. After college Nik pursued a professional career playing on different semi-pro and travel teams in multiple countries.

Nik was an assistant coach and strength and conditioning coach at Johnson university for 4 years then took an assistant coaching job at San Jacinto College North where his team won the regional championship for the first time in school history. Nik has trained multiple middle school, high school, college and professional players and has a passion for watching players improve!

When Nik isn’t training basketball players he enjoys spending most of his time with his wife traveling and working out.

Ryan Trimbee

Ryan Trimbee (right) is the Co-Owner/Operator & Trainer of Windermere Basketball Academy. As a west coast native, he has played sports his entire life. Ryan competed in basketball, football and baseball all through High School and College. Receiving instruction from top coaches.

Ryan’s idea to start Windermere Basketball Academy was due to his love of seeing the youth -young adults improve on and most importantly, off the court.

When not on the court, Ryan is living a healthy life style, traveling and enjoyed time with his wife and two amazing children.

WBA Trainer

Shane Smarr
Middle/High School Group

Shane Smarr is originally from Ohio, but has spent the majority of his life here in Florida. He played high school basketball under legendary coach Jim Haley at Vanguard High School in Ocala, Fl. Shane went on to play at and graduate from Florida Christian College (2005-2009). As a senior at FCC, he received team MVP honors. He became the Assistant Coach at FCC in 2010 and then Associate Head Coach at FCC in 2011. He served as Head Coach at Johnson
University Florida from 2013-2015.

Shane has worked one on one training students and has worked with middle school, high school and of course college level athletes. He currently is working in a middle school as athletic director and PE coach, as well as coaching boys basketball and girls flag football.

When he is not busy coaching or teaching, Shane can usually be found spending time with his wife and two daughters, or playing basketball for enjoyment himself.
